Hi Viktor,

Thank you for your reply.

The QNAP NAS may be found at www,qnap.com and they include Apple networking. I am using smb.

When I do try the connect server it shows smb://wehlbur-nas/qmultimedia/movies.

I trust that this will assist you. Should you require any further information, please advise. Should you wish to look at this through a team viewer session, then happy to set this up and co-ordinate with you.

Kind regards
Gavin

Gavin,

First, I do not know if this guide applies to Snow Leopard, as I haven't tried it myself. It's not unlikely that they have changed way SL manages favorites etc.

Second, I'm not sure about the QNAP you're mentioning. I haven't tried it myself, and I do not know what kind of protocols it supports (SMB, AFP?).

Hi Viktor,
Thank you for your article. Please could you assist further. I have use the Symbolic Linker 1.3v2 prior to upgrading to Snow Leopard and set up my DVD's, Music and Photos on my NAS accessible through Front Row. Worked a treat.
I am struggling with iMovie and whilst I can see the QNAP Qmultimedia folder under the events in iMovie it has a yellow triangle on it and no further. I can see the test movie from Front Row imported into the iMovie Events prior to moving it to the NAS and creating the Symlink, but not under iMovie. When I follow your Connect to Server section, I have added via + all the Share Folders under QMultimedia (Movies; Photos etc) and hit the Connect. When looking under Library/Favourites I do not see the Shares created to drag into the Accounts / Login Items window???
Can you assist?
Kind regards
